Kara & Louis
As seen in Geelong Wedding Guide Magazine
Love Story

Kara and Louis’ love has truly travel time and distance to bring them together. First meeting at university, their first interaction was fleeting and it took another two years for them to reconnect. Bonding over the fact they took the dress code of the BBQ seriously (donning socks and sandals to imitate their professor), Kara knew she’d met her person. Months of friendship flew by and Louis was none the wiser to Kara’s cheeky advances. Finally plucking up the courage, there was no mistaking her intentions when Kara asked Louis out on a date!
Surviving their first year together as a long distance relationship between Melbourne and Sydney, Kara made the big leap and moved to be with Louis. Now on their next adventure back in Victoria, the pair have new jobs, a new home and a new addition – their wonderfully
mischievous cat.
The Day

You’ve heard the saying four seasons in a day yes? But what if it hails five times during your wedding day, what do we call that?! Sending every ounce of rain, hail, arctic winds and a peep of shine Kara and Louis’ way, Mother Nature certainly made herself known on their big
day. Inspired by the natural beauty of Bellbrae Harvest and their love of the outdoors, Kara and Louis chose their wedding date to coincide with nature’s own colour palate. Surrounded by native florals arranged so beautifully by Erin from Florette, Kara and Louis’ paid their respects to the traditional owners of the land, inviting Aunty Corinna to perform a smoking ceremony, welcome to Country and water ceremony.
Bringing together the most precious parts of their story, the couple celebrated Louis’ Taiwanese heritage, wearing cheongsam and incorporating their own version of a fan ceremony. The pair also included Kara’s love for choir with the couple walking down the aisle to the sound of Kara’s dad and her choir friends. Kara and Louis are so thankful to the amazing team of vendors, for turning Mother Nature’s
outburst into a serene and memorable celebration of their lives together. What started out as a pure and loving friendship, is now their happily ever after.
