Cloudia & Grant

Our Love Story

A very modern love story, a swipe right on the dating app bumble. Cloudia had moved to Melbourne for work and intended to stay for no more than 18 months until she met Grant! Cloudia was settling into a new city and Grant was her first match. They spoke on the app for an entire month before meeting.

We ventured off on our first date to the Imperial in South Yarra and there was an instant spark, Grant and Cloudia couldn't stop talking, so much so they actually got kicked out of the bar because the staff wanted to go home!

Covid lockdowns soon fast tracked their relationship, spending most days together, finding fun and creative ways of entertaining each other. The more time we spent together the more they fell harder in love and all Cloudia could think was boy was she in trouble here!

The 18 months I had planned to spend in Melbourne soon turned into living here permanently.

Grant and Cloudia fell in love with the Surf Coast and would frequent with holidays in Anglesea often stopping into Bellbrae estate for a glass of rose in the sun! On Friday the 18th they headed for a weekend away with their dog Macey and planned to go for lunch on the Saturday. They headed to Bellbrae for a wine and unknowingly to Cloudia, they walked through the vineyards to what then turned into Grant dropping the knee! The second-best day of Cloudia's life, after the wedding of course.

The Day

Some highlights would be writing a letter to each other that they read to one another when headed off for private photos. It was so nice to have that private time together before heading back to start the reception.

As the bridal party were getting photos on the beach, there was a pod of dolphins and all of the guests got to see them, it was magical.

We personalised everything, guests placecards included 3 characteristics the bride and groom loved about them. Cloudia and Grant also used pictures of their dog with numbers as the table numbers. These were both a hit!

There also had a few funny moments, as the night was wrapping up, Grant's father, ran out to the bus that had been organised and asked if they could stay on another half an hour; of course, they needed the DJ to stay as well so the reception ended up being extended ten minutes before it was due to end!

The welcome sign and cones of petals all blew over just as the car with the bride and bridesmaids arrived, blowing petals everywhere.

Our celebrant was an absolute stand out vendor, she sent videos on how to set up our ceremony, how to stand and calmed my nerves before walking down the aisle! Also our florist, DJ and venue!
