Brooke & George

Brooke&George-475.jpg

Brooke and George met at a science camp in 2013 and began dating in 2014. The camp aimed to introduce youths to practical STEM experiences at universities. As staff members, they quickly bonded over shared interests, including Star Wars.

Brooke lived in Brisbane, while George resided in Warrnambool. They maintained a long-distance relationship during Brooke's degree, with frequent trips providing opportunities for holidays together.

In December 2018, George proposed to Brooke in Warrnambool with a beautiful Olivine ring, symbolizing her eventual move to the area. George even sought her father's permission while she was on the plane.

By January 2020, Brooke relocated to Warrnambool and moved in with George. Their move was challenged by bush fires, floods, and the onset of COVID. From February 2020 onwards, they found happiness together despite the two years of lockdowns. They share a love for nerdy films and TV shows, enjoy music festivals, and are active in their local Rotary club.

George enjoys video games and Tesla cars, while Brooke is passionate about the Australian music scene and technology. They balance each other well and cherish their life together with their two cats, Barney and Puss, in Warrnambool.

The Day

Brooke and George chose one of the hottest days in January for their wedding, with temperatures reaching 38 degrees. Despite the heat, the vendors they selected made the day stress-free and enjoyable, showcasing their professionalism.

Brooke's close friends traveled from Brisbane, and both Brooke and George woke up to help from friends and family. The girls from Blush Bar did a fantastic job at the bridal Airbnb, where everyone enjoyed a relaxed morning with plenty of food and hydration. The guys, meanwhile, went for a barber appointment and played video games. Both wedding parties then headed to Dog Rocks in Geelong (Stonehaven) for the first look and photos. Despite the heat, the excitement of seeing each other left Brooke and George speechless. Photographer Ash captured stunning images before the ceremony.

The ceremony venue, Rocklea Farm, provided a cool respite before the proceedings began. The wedding party arrived in the family's Tesla cars, fulfilling George's wish and adding a unique touch. The ceremony itself, held under a majestic Gum Tree, was short, sweet, and perfectly tailored by celebrant Izzy, featuring music from Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, and Star Wars.

Post-ceremony, Boutique Event Co ensured everyone stayed hydrated. The reception included live jazz, canapés, lawn games, and a photo booth, making for a delightful afternoon. Elderberry Events exceeded expectations with table settings and styling, using cookies for place settings and incorporating eco-friendly touches like laser-cut bamboo disks and scientific flasks filled with smarties, a nod to their meeting at science camp. A wedding bingo card added a fun element.

The food was delicious, and the band was outstanding. Photographer Ash captured perfect sunset shots, and despite a bee sting, videographer John continued filming to ensure every moment was recorded.

The day flew by, ending with a run down the guard of honor and a departure to the hotel. Brooke and George's wedding was perfect for them, highlighting their shared loves, including cookies featuring their cats.
